Let Your Light Shine

When we let our Light shine - and live in our faith we believe we will taste the happiness that comes from it. To taste the joy that comes from it.  We will be able to feel and see the good that comes from it. This is a moral end.

When we choose to live in the light of Christ we facilitate "good".  A way that facilitates the greater good for your life, your neighbor’s life,  for the community and the city.

Waterfront Community invites you to do good with us … to Shine with us.

Throughout the Year , we will be holding "Let Your Light Shine" activities around the Waterfront for you and your neighbors.

Activities that build your  Faith and create community. Join us.

Small Change . Amazing Results.

We pass the communal purse each week in our gathering and ask folks to offer whatever  little loose change they may have  jingling  in their pockets .  A penny here. A nickel there. A quarter  here.  three dimes there.  It all adds up. Now we have enough  money  saved to buy a goat for a family living in poverty  somewhere in the world. The goats milk will allow the family to  sell its milk for money which in turn will allow them to buy more goats and feed their family.  Somewhere out there someone lives because of loose change. Amazing. God's Work. Our Hands

 Shine the Light on Hunger

An analysis of monthly client totals from emergency pantries served by the Community FoodBank of NJ shows a 20 percent increase this year in the number of people seeking food assistance.  Some agencies in especially hard-hit areas report a 30 percent spike in need.  Similar data is being seen at food banks all over the country.
Community FoodBank of New Jersey, September 2008

Waterfront Community is  collecting food bags to drop off at soup kitchens  and pantries throughout Hudson County. Each week our members distribute empty bags to area residents and request they fill a bag with groceries. Waterfront Community Church members pick up the bags and distribute them to needy kitchens and pantries..
